Stock Horse of Texas (SHTX) is the oldest versatile stock horse association in the country, a true original that continues to innovate.

Stock Horse of Texas is designed for riders of all experiences to learn and compete in an environment that is friendly, affordable and designed to fit all levels of riding. Clinics focus on creating a ‘broke,’ functional stock horse that is a pleasure to ride. Shows offer competitions in the four basic stock horse disciplines: Reining, Working Cow Horse, Stock Horse Pleasure and Stock Horse Trail, with some shows offering Ranch Cutting.

There is a division for every skill level, so riders can show with others of similar ability and experience.

Stock Horse of Texas is proud of alliance partnerships with AQHA, APHA, NRCHA and the National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance.

Tom Ferro serves as the unofficial photographer of many of our local shows, and takes wonderful horse show photos as well as other styles, including landscapes, portait, and wildlife

Jim and Jill Cook graciously agreed to be clinicians for our Spring clinic 2022. We are thankful for their support and coaching.

Jim and Jill Cook been providing top-quality cow horse training in Colorado for over 40 years combined. Jim and Jill are dedicated to the development and cow horses, versatility horses, and stock horses. Both are highly focused on non-pros and helping them developing their relationships with their horses.

​Shamus Haws is based in Utah, but offers large and small clinics from coast to coast, as well as demonstrations. His clinics are geared toward the ability and interests of the participants. He doesn't have a preference about whether the participants use english or western saddles or what discipline they prefer. There isn't a discipline that doesn't involve moving the horses' feet and connecting with their minds. Shamus passion in life has always been with horses and always will be. This passion has led him to many great opportunities and people, and has been blessed to be able to share it with many.

Shamus also has a passion for showing Ranch Horse Versatility, Ranch Riding, and Reined Cow Horses.
